MAGA Republicans' obsession with Jeffrey Epstein reveals deep distrust of elites, fractures within the movement, and how conspiracy politics distract from real harms facing American democracy.
Thank you for an insightful journey through this deceptive house of mirrors that has been created as a cynical distraction . We’re living through a grotesquely perverted deconstruction of reality and T he ghost of B. F. Skinner is laughing.
I’m not sure about that. As I understand it he was a right serious bastard, his kids hated him, and his analytical methods haven’t aged well. I always thought Skinner Boxes were the tenth circle of hell. Apparently his family agreed, but let’s not speak ill of the dead.
IAmNotAPsychologist(path?) but we seem to be forced to live through the consequences of “Behaviorism” on steroids. My hunch is that he would be both amused and aghast to see us being confined in one of his social experiments.
I applaud this article. Three points stick out to me: 1) The big bill of betrayal will deprive women and families of healthcare, but especially females without the guaranteed right of reproductive choice. 2) Defunding of programs to combat human trafficking. Republican policies are more harmful to women than Epstein. 3) It is significant that anger is focused on the Epstein client perpetrator pedophile predators, and not on the countless young victims of female child sexual abuse, molestation, exploitation and the traumatic mental and physical damage. Well said, Gary. I wish Skinner were still alive to analyze us collectively.

Don’t get me started on McLuhan…

I agree 100%, Liz. The misogyny at the root of MAGA behavior is overwhelming.
